Youth Division


2024 SALMON-A-RAMA Youth Division Rules

 

The following rules and details are specific to the youth division and youth division subcategories only.  All other rules and details as defined in the 2024 SALMON-A-RAMA general rules are applicable to the youth division.

Youth Division - General

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants on a given boat must have a valid SALMON-A-RAMA youth ticket at the time that the fish is caught.

b. Youth division participants must be at least 6 years old and not older than 15 years old by July 13th at 12:00 AM CST.

c. No species categories exist in the youth category.

d. See each subcategory for eligible species.

e. Youth division anglers are only eligible to be on the leader board once. If a youth division angler registers a fish that weighs more than the Youth's previous entry, the larger fish will be added to the leader board and the smaller fish will be removed from the leader board. (This does not apply to daily prizes).

f.  Youth Division Tickets are eligible for Youth Division Prizes Only

g. Participants in the Youth Division can also purchase a Boat and/or a Shore Division ticket.

h. Contestants possessing a Youth division ticket can only enter a fish in the Youth Division unless they possess a Boat or Shore division ticket. In this case, the participant is only eligible to enter the fish into one division and must choose which division to enter the fish into prior to weighing the fish.

i.   Youth Division fish are eligible for the Big 5 Event.

 

 

 

 Youth Division - Boat

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants must possess a valid SALMON-A-RAMA youth boat ticket at the time fish are caught

b. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

b. Participants in the Youth Boat Division must purchase a general Boat Division ticket to be eligible for grand prize. Otherwise, all Youth Boat Division fish shall be entered into the Youth Boat Division payouts

c. If a youth is registered in both general boat and youth boat divisions, the participant is only eligible to enter the fish into one division and must choose which division to enter the fish into prior to weighing the fish.

 

2. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a. Prizes will be awarded for the top 20 eligible fish caught in the Youth Division

 

 

Youth Division – Shore

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants must possess a valid SALMON-A-RAMA youth shore ticket at the time fish are caught

b. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

·   Rough fish

c. A 25 point bonus will be awarded to any of the five eligible non rough fish species.

d.    Participants in the Youth Shore Division must purchase a general Shore Division ticket to be eligible for grand prize. Otherwise, all Youth Shore Division fish shall be entered into the Youth Shore Division payouts.

e.     If a youth is registered in both you the and general shore divisions, the participant is only eligible to enter the fish into one division and must choose which division to enter the fish into prior to weighing the fish. 

 

2. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a. Prizes will be awarded for the top 10 eligible fish caught in the Youth Shore Division

 

Youth Division – Jr Slam

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants must possess a valid SALMON-A-RAMA youth ticket at the time fish are caught

b. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

c. If a fish is weighed under a general shore or boat division ticket (non-youth ticket), then the fish will not qualify toward the Jr. SLAM.

 

2. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a. The youth with the 5 heaviest fish entered within the youth division will be crowned the youth Division Jr. SLAM winner.

b.    Top 3 Jr Slam winners will receive a trophy and a check.

 

Youth Division – Master Angler

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants must possess a valid SALMON-A-RAMA youth ticket at the time fish are caught.

b. Anglers must legally and in accordance with all other SALMON-A-RAMA rules catch at least one each of the eligible boats division species.

c. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

d. If a fish is weighed under a general shore or boat division ticket (non-youth ticket), then the fish will not qualify toward the Jr. SLAM.

 

2. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a.     Prize will be awarded to the top three youth anglers that catches the largest total accumulated weight of the 5-eligible species over the duration of the tournament.

b.    If no one angler catches all the eligible species, the Youth Master Angler Award will not be awarded.

c.     In case of a tie, the angler that weighs in first will be awarded the prize.
