2024 SALMON-A-RAMA Big 5 Rules

 

The following rules and details are specific to the Big 5 contest only. All other rules and details as defined in the 2024 SALMON-A-RAMA general rules are applicable to the Big 5 contest

Big 5 - General

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS, AND ENTRY FEE

a. All participants on a given boat must have a valid SALMON-A-RAMA ticket at the time fish are caught.

b. The Big 5 Tournament is open to Boat, Individual Shore or Kayak anglers.

c. Entry fee is $100.00.

d. Tickets must be purchased before July 13, 2024, at 12:00 AM CST

e. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

·   Pink and Atlantic Salmon will be weighed as Chinook Salmon

f.  For Boat Division registrants, eligible fish must be caught and registered from the boat that has the Big 5 registration only. No sharing of fish from one boat to another.

g. For Shore Division registrants, eligible fish must be caught and registered by the Shore Angler that has the Big 5 registration only.

h. For Kayak Division registrants, eligible fish must be caught and registered by the Kayak Angler that has the Big 5 registration only.

 

 

 

 2. DATES AND HOURS

a.     The tournament will be start on July 13, 2024, at 12:01 AM and ends July 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM CST. This coincides with the 2024 SALMON-A-RAMA general contest.

3. SCORING

a. Points will be assigned as ten points per fish and one point per pound.

b. Results are calculated on your top 5 fish weighed in over the course of the tournament (up to 5 Lake Trout). 

c.     Up to two lake trout can be weighed per day

4. WEIGH IN

a. Fish can be weighed at any official SALMON-A-RAMA weigh in station.

 

 

5. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a.     The prize money pool will consist of 85% of the total entry fees collected plus donations made to the Big 5 Tournament.

b. Top 3 payouts guaranteed $5,000, $3,500, & $1,500

c.     In case of ties, the prize money between the two or more places the participants would have won will be divided equally between the tied contestants.
