Boat Division

2024 SALMON-A-RAMA Boat Division Rules

 

The following rules and details are specific to the boat division and boat division subcategories only.  All other rules and details as defined in the 2024 SALMON-A-RAMA general rules are applicable to the boat division.

 

Boat Division - General

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants on a given boat must have a valid SALMON-A-RAMA boat ticket at the time that the fish is caught.

b. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

·   Pink and Atlantic Salmon will be weighed as Chinook Salmon

c. Boat Division participants are eligible to be on the top 20 leader board more than once for each eligible species. 

 

 

Boat Division - Master Angler

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. All participants must possess a valid SALMON-A-RAMA boat ticket at the time fish are caught

b. Anglers must legally and in accordance with all other SALMON-A-RAMA rules catch at least one each of the eligible boats division species.

c. Eligible species are:

·   Chinook Salmon

·   Coho Salmon

·   Lake Trout

·   Brown Trout

·   Rainbow Trout (Steelhead)

2. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a.     Prizes will be awarded to the top five anglers that catch the largest total accumulated weight of the 5 eligible Boat Division species over the duration of the tournament.

b.    If no one angler catches all the eligible species, the Boat Master Angler Award will not be awarded.

 

 

Boat Division – Private Boat Ticket

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a. Any boat is eligible except charter boats

b. Cost is $375.00 for the entire 9-day event

c. Includes a total of nine tickets for the SALMON-A-RAMA Boat Division

d. Fish caught on the Private Boat ticket can only be entered in the Boat Division (not eligible for shore or kayak)

e. Tickets must be filled out prior to fishing.

f.      Any youth anglers on a boat that wish to participate in the Youth Division, will need to be issued a Youth Division ticket prior to the start of contest in accordance with the applicable youth contest.

 

2. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a.     Any prizes won using a private boat ticket will be awarded to the ticket holder of the winning catch.

 

Boat Division – Charter Boat Ticket

1. ELIGIBILITY, AND REQUIREMENTS

a.     Vessel being entered must be a registered charter boat with a USCG licensed Captain, and appropriate Sport Troll fishing License.

b.    Ticket covers the entire 9-day SALMON-A-RAMA

c.     Covers all members aboard for duration of the event.

d.    Ticket covers the boat it is designated for and its captain only. If the first mate, friends, or client’s fish aboard another boat they will need to purchase an individual participation ticket, unless the second boat is also a charter boat with a charter ticket.

e. Fish caught on the Charter Boat ticket can only be entered in the Boat Division (not eligible for shore or kayak)

f.  A youth aboard the registered charter boat may register their fish in the boat division or youth division. The youth angler must decide prior to weigh in which division the fish will be registered.

g. The registered boat will designated a preferred charter, be advertised on the SALMON-A-RAMA web site, and all calls for a charter will be directed to a charter service from the preferred charters.

h. BIG 5 tickets must be purchased separately as well as any other events inside the tournament that there is a separate fee to enter.

 

2. WEIGH IN

a.     The fish to be registered must be accompanied by ticket signed by the captain and participant weighing the fish.

b.    The captain or mate may weigh the fish for the client as long as ticket is signed by both the captain and participant.

 

3. PRIZES AND AWARDS

a.     Any prizes earned will be awarded at the discretion of the captain.
