Introducing Salmon-A-Rama Slam!

New in 2012; Salmon-A-Rama Slam! is a 5-fish only sub tournament that runs the full 9 days of Salmon-A-Rama.

The total weight of your five selected fish will determine the winner with no upgrading to fish so being selective and strategic will be key to success.

The fee for this tournament will be $50 and weigh-in will be allowed at any of the participating ports
(Closing Sunday will be limited to port of Racine only) .

The beauty of this tournament is it’s based on 1 anglers' bag limit but is tied to the boat vs. the angler. Meaning you can have multiple anglers over the nine day event and still weigh in the fish under that ticket, but you better choose wisely!

Multiple Weigh-In Locations

We're branching out.

This year there will be 5 (Count'em FIVE) ports spread out along the western cost of Lake Michigan you can register your catch in!

All of the remote ports will be tied into our contest tracking program which means you can see how you placed instantly regardless of where you weigh in, and notifications of your top placing fish will get sent out to everyone following @SUWISCONSIN on Twitter.

Help Preserve Our Launch

Powerloading (Loading your boat by forcefully driving it onto your trailer) causes loose material to be displaced from beneath the ramp weakening it and creating underwater hills that can damage the hull and propeller of other boats. If you're by yourself and need a hand getting your boat onto your trailer; ask for help. Anglers tend to be rather social beings, It shouldn't be too hard to find someone willing to lend a hand.
If you see someone powerloading; explain (politely - it doesn't need to come to fisticuffs.) how they are contributing to the ruination of our boat launch by doing so, and help them if possible load their boat the proper and safe way.

Closing Day Award Ceremony

Join us after the contest wraps up Sunday at 11am at the port of Racine and help us congratulate this years winners.

They won't be the only ones getting stuff though! Bring along your valid contest ticket and you'll be entered in the raffle to win an assortment of prizes from our sponsors.

Last year received rave reviews as our prize committee doled out the prizes to all valid contest ticket holders in attendance.

Every Fish Counts

That one pound Steelhead may not land you in the top spots of the leaderboard or win you a fabulous prize, but weighting it in still helps the DNR gain pertinent information about our lake's ecosystem, and can alert them to population fluctuations, or other potential problems ahead of time.

Who You Call'n Little?

Samantha Boettcher (then 12) Took home the Offshore Grand Prize in 2011 with a 24.8lb Chinook she battled for half an hour Monday night (July 11th) proving she's not just hang'in with the big boys, she has a thing or two she can show em as well!

World Record Brown Wins SAR 2010

Friday morning (July 16th '10); Roger Hellen was one of the first in line when our Weigh-In station opened it's doors. The fish he wanted us to weigh? A 41lb (8oz) brown trout! This fish beat the current world record catch of 41lb (7oz) caught last September on a river in Michigan. Salmon-A-Rama would like to congratulate Roger and his crew on this fantastic world record catch!
